So I shot a fun story for Paper Magazine. Sort of an homage to Harvey Milk. The story comes with text from Paper's Kim Hastreiter who attended the premiere out in San Fran and wanted to give her two cents about Prop 8. It was a lot of fun. Timothy Reukauf styled and Douglas Perrett did a great job with the casting. You'll have to pick up a copy of Paper to see the rest.

The new Calvin ads are out, along with a steamy commercial. All shot by Meisel and, of course, already banned in the States. The commercial anyways. I remember when Vlad, Mikus and Danny flew out to LA to shoot and I recognize Vlad and Mikus, but who's that on the couch? Carson Parker? Great casting and I love that they brought it back "old-school."

Recently, a friend of mine (a rather smart one) said to me that he thought someone should do an online magazine. Of course we've all heard that getting our fashion fix online would be a way of the future, but how could it actually be done?
How could you get original and relevant content shot just for the web? AND, more importantly, how would you get people to log on? Well, Editor-in-Chief Matthew Edelstein and Creative Director Ryan Schmidt have found a way.
Contributing Editor offers a visual platform for collaborations between some of today's freshest young photographers, stylists, models, artists and musicians. A new perspective that will have you logging on from the comfort of your own home as opposed to running to the newsstand for the latest issue.
And if you're like me, tired of seeing the same editorials shot by the same photographers, you'll be just as excited by this new cutting-edge take on men's fashion. Well done guys! I think it's genius!

BIG UP's to my girl Iekeliene who's showing her work in Berlin tonight. I guess unless you've seen her backstage with her camera, you might not have even known she was a photographer. At least that's the reaction I've had from friends upon hearing of her show. "Iekeliene the model?" (As if there could be another.) I'm so bummed I won't be there to see it. I love Ieke.
Models.com has got some great backstage shots by photographer Eric Sposito. I love 'em! Fun ones, beautiful ones, B&W, color...all of 'em. And if you wanna see more of Eric's work check out his myspace or ericsposito.com.
And while you're there, can someone please tell me who this is?
Here, here's his runway shot. Me likey.

For those of you that don't know who Johnny Hazzard is, FYI- he's hot. Smokin hot. He's like the Richard Gere of gay porn and was recently nominated GLBT Performer of the Year for 2009. He was the star I was most excited to meet out in LA and he did not disappoint.
I worked with Toni yesterday. She's so great. Whenever I run in to her I can't help but remember the first time I laid eyes on her backstage at Calvin. Everyone was going nuts trying to figure out who she was. She's killin' it.

I've been coming across so many fun blogs lately. They pop up out of nowhere and then I wonder how I've never seen any of 'em before . Like Visual Dizziness, which belongs to backstage photographer Sebastien Mart who shoots the lovely images you see on the page. If you're in to backstage fun and cute boys, you'll love it. There's even happy little French music that plays when you log on.
One of my absolute favorite models is Red's Chris Pulliam. He's one of the sweetest kids you'll ever meet. He's doing video "diary" updates from out on the road and though it's mostly for friends and family back home, he doesn't mind if others tune in. He's having a great season thus far and in spite of his technical difficulties (typical Milan) he's determined to fill us in on all he's up to during the shows. We LOVE Chris Pulliam.

Vman.com has undergone a face-lift for the New Year! A chic one. Complete with sneak peeks in to upcoming issues as well as a blog. Editor Jesse Ashlock will be bringing it with art, fashion and innovative culture from around the world. Love it!

The day has finally come! Barack Hussein Obama is officially the 44th President of the United States. Who woulda thought? And if you're like me, you've been glued to CNN for days to witness this historical and unprecedented event. NO MORE BUSH!!! I never thought we'd get rid of that jackass. And with such a promising replacement bringing so much hope to our country.

So they're off and running over in Milan. And "No" to all the emails and texts I've received as to whether or not I'm there. I'm afraid Julius, Luiz, Simon and all the other boys will have to go at it without me. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be there, I just can't imagine riding around on the back of a scooter between shows in the freezing cold. Apparently it's no warmer there than here in NYC. So have fun boys!

Charles Devoe has a special place in my heart. I've been shooting him since Day 1 (he as model, me as photographer) and he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. And that face! He's like the Christy Turlington of male models.

I found a fun blog the other night. Of the editorial type. I wish I'd found it when I first started this blog and wasn't up for scanning my favorite editorials. It's pretty much the go-to for the most current whatever's-out-there that's, well...gay. And fashion related. It's called Homotography.

This one goes out to all you Brian Kenny fans out there (and there are many of you.) He's got an interview up over at eastvillageboys.com. You can read about what inspires him creatively, how he and Slava met or the hot wigger he jerked off in high school. And if that's not enough, check out his website, blog and flickr page.

Does anyone remember the post I did about my fool-proof method for combating motion sickness? The one where I explained how I'd figured out that when you hit turbulence on a flight it helps to stare at the wing of the plane? No? Well, turns out I was right.
In fact, SO right that I followed a Google Alert to this travel site yesterday where they not only quoted yours truly (with cute little illustrations supporting my claim,) but then backed it up with scientific reasoning from the Navy as to why it works.
Uh-huh...ya, that's right. Who's your Daddy?

Okay, okay, I'm back. Jesus. Is anyone else finding it hard to get back in to the swing of things after two weeks of complete laziness? I know I am. So, here we go!
I shot Brazilian Pedro Andrade last month for Paper Magazine. He showed up on a Sunday morning, we put em in some sweats and nailed a series of great shots in about 10 minutes. He's very sweet and very professional. Click here for more on Pedro and his new reality television show.
I realize this is a little after the fact, but Douglas put together a "Best of 2008" list over at COACD. The list is not exclusive to models, and features noteworthy personalities from the resurgence of the Supermodel to everyone's favorite Third World blogger.
