Foolproof

I'm sure by now everyone's aware of how many fakes there are on Facebook. I totally get that fans wanna do profiles for their favorite models, however, many go the extra mile and actually email as, and pretend to be, that person. Which is, a little weird. However, I have developed my own fullproof way of figuring out who's who.

It's pretty simple really. Next time you get a request from Stam, Tyson, Sasha or Parker...just give 'em a little quiz. Like where you were when you celebrated their last b-day..or who you were with when you recently ran in to them on the street...or who the photographer was they were shooting with when you met on-set for the first time. The success rate is pretty high. Most don't get back.

Oh yeah....just like that first comment, I don't go to shoots or bday parties either. I requested Chad and he accepted but I'm still not sure if he's the real Chad...however, he's friends with his gf's sister and he has a webcam photo....so how can I tell? Or is the sister a fake as well?

it's most fun to assume they're fake but interact with them as if they're real. cyberspace is about fantasy after all no? where else does the average joe get to feel like he's actually friends with jessica stam? u might be taking facebook etc too seriously, jd... :)

"fantasy" .. Huh? How would you feel if someone online set up a page pretending to be YOU! Talking to people & expressing THEIR opinions under the guise of you? It's sad & pathetic! Some people state that it's a fan page which is fine but the ones who don't need their heads examined ...

P.S - I'm sure Jess Stam knew lots of "avergae Joes" back in rural Canada!

ah, jd... :) get your gral jist but this is 2009. as long as there are more than one jessica stams on fb then it's pretty obvious that at least one if not both are fake. the real jessica stam is prob smart enough to use an alias. there must be 250 gisele bundchens on fb. if gisele took it personally that others are pretending to be her then she'd be locked up in a padded cell by now. the fact is that she avoids the internet altogether and spends her time making babies with tom brady face to face. perhaps that the lesson most of us need to learn - log off and live it up. didn't miley just leave twitter? lol.

LOL, that's cute to see how you take care of fans.

i think (and i'm a specialist :p) the best way to make the difference between the fakes and the real models is really easy.

for example (this is Jessica Stam on the picture if i'm not wrong ?i'm aboslutely not her fan and i don't follow her work or her personnal life... )so Jessica came from Canada... and now she lives in United States... if i'm not wrong.
if one day i will find her private facebook, the majority of her friends' network must be "Toronto" (i think, i know she is canadian but i don't know where she came from), certainely "New York" and "Los Angeles"... maybe a majority of "London" too...

yes models came from all around the world but the biggest part of them lives in big cities like New York or London... so they use these networks...

the fake add people from all around the world, so it will be hard to find the important majority of a network...

by the way fakes often add "public picture" the kind of pictures that everybody can find on TheFashionSpot's forum, Bellazon (where i am :p), modelmen, etc etc etc or on twitter, pictures from backstage or after parties etc and when the fake put these pictures on facebook the biggest part aren't tagged... or the fake must create 50 other fakes to play the other models "role"... totaly mad... of course someone could do it, but i never saw it!!! and you can try to watch the friends list of her friends... :p

they are rarely tagged by their friends... it's more often public pictures tagged by fans...

in the end you can read messages on the wall.
if you can see mails like "glad to see you yesterday, hope you aren't tired ^^" from many different friends you can understand you find the real person... but when the majority of mails are like this one "oh, i love you so much, thank for the add" XD it can be a fake...

i spend my time to add musicians on facebook and trust me i never added fakes :p even the private facebook of famous musicians like Sonic Youth drummer/producer.
he hides his facebook but i found him because we have mutual friends :D

but the result is here and i'm not sure i could be invited in a fake backstage and spend the evening with fake musicians... so i think my technic is pretty good

but i think the best way to be sure that we added the real models is to go on your facebook and add the models of your friends list XD
so if we will added a fake it will be your fault because you didn't know their birthday's place... :D
