The Cove

Do you remember a while back there was this footage of Hayden Panettiere caught in some dolphin documentary drama? Well, it's finally out. It's called The Cove and it's hardcore. Basically these guys went in to this small town and secretly, commando style, documented the slaughtering of innocent dolphins.

The film was directed by Louie Psihoyos who is in Japan this week promoting the film and has said he will give the profits from the screenings to the town- if they end the annual hunt. Be sure to check out the trailer, but I must warn you, it's gruesome. And infuriating.

Thank You for posting this JD.

Dolphin slaying has become less trendy over the years, and unfortunately an issue that has been left behind.

So little control we have over circumstances these days. ie- gay marriage, recession, health care..this is worthwhile cause we can all do small part about and takes very little effort to let our voices be heard.

The Cove is quite possibly the most important film I've ever seen and will ever see. Please keep spreading the word. Everybody go see The Cove!

Yeah, you're right Luke. It is the most important film you will ever see because dolphins are more important than say, poor black people who were slaughtered and left to drown and float like so much garbage during Katrina.

Dolphins....people....hmmmmm...

And before you all snit about dolphins, think about the much broader impact of corporations that overfish and pollute our oceans to extinction.

But no, I guess one little town in Japan that slaughters cute dolphins is a better photo op.

Intentionally murdering a life is a lot different than the aftermath of a tragedy, left at the hands of a corrupt administration.

Everyone has their causes and charities they believe in and are passionate about. As you evidently are about the aftermath of Katrina.

Doesn't make others less important because they're not at the top of your list.

There are plenty of causes in this world to go around.

You need to stop watching CNN for your news Xavier--the Bush administration hired Blackwater, a private military outfit to essentially murder post-evacuation stragglers in New Orleans. Black people were left to die, their corpses left to bloat like so much garbage in floodwaters. Go look at the articles in thenation.com to comprehend the atrocity of black people being gunned down for crossing into white enclaves during and post-Katrina.

But you're right--none of that was intentional so dolphins rule...
