Z Zegna

Andrew Weir did an excellent job with the Z Zegna casting this season. Solid and consistent, I wouldn't have changed a thing. The good news is, the boys were all cute and fun. The bad news is, I think there were a few Polaroids I missed.

Highlights were Betty from MDC, Kevin Flamme, Mathias B, Alan Carey, Drew, Louie (HOT) and Adrian W, who I adore.

Paul Newman RIP

I was so bummed to hear Paul Newman had passed away. I had the pleasure of meeting he and his family back when I was a waiter at Union Square Cafe, years ago in my 20's, and he was everything I'd hoped he'd be. And then some. Unpretentious, gracious and kind; he was in a league of his own. Not just as an icon, screen-legend and philanthropist, but someone who'd figured out how to live a first class life. And be grateful for it. I was in awe the entire time.

Eric Ray Davidson

I meant to do a post on photographer Eric Ray Davidson's photographs for T's blog The Moment weeks ago, but since I got to bed early last night and didn't do any blogs, now seems like just a good a time as any. Eric captured a variety of unique moments in and around New York fashion week. I loved them all.

Shannan Click

I loved seeing Shannan Click out during fashion week. I FINALLY grabbed a minute, found a place to light up, plopped down on this white bed, looked over and there she was. She's so cool Shannan.

Julius Beckers

BIG UP'S! to my favorite boy of the summer, Julius Beckers, on his Prada eyewear campaign. I told you he was major. And I'm sure this is just the first of what we'll be seeing on him this season. Hey Julius!

Mollin?

So I'm out back smokin at the Calvin party and Romulo points out this hot blond. At first I'm like "Ya, ya, whatever..another pretty girl..." But then, I don't know if it was Romulo's narrative or the dress but, I just thought she looked so great. Anybody know who she is? She said she's an actress and I thought she said her name was "Mollin?" (Mallin?). I think she's so hot.

Schatzy!

A big gay "Haaaay!" to my girlfriend Anna Bauer who's in her third week of shooting shows. We've been BBM-ing all week and I wanted to surprise her with this shot I grabbed of her backstage at Marc. Anna shoots large format Polaroids and if you didn't catch her work in the last Interview-FYI- she shoots everyone!

VNY

From the streets of Milan to the subways of NYC, all the boys, consistently, say the same thing. "I'm with VNY." There's no denying owner Lana Winters has played her hand and won. Hitting the radar with Nick Snider for Prada followed by the discovery of the iconic face of Sean O'Pry, clearly Lana is playing with a stacked deck.

I popped by VNY last week and hit the mother lode. Current industry "must-haves" mixed with personal faves and a few I didn't even know she had. One after the other they filed in and luckily my camera was there to capture it all. Shirtless boys, a cute baby, a hot husband and Danny, who I had no idea was so hot.

One of my favorite new faces of the season.

J'adore Lenz. Check out the shots Mert and Marcus did of him for the September issue of V.

Julien Sabaud I met at McQueen this summer, he's French and hot-hot.

The scene.

Who doesn't love Luke Worrall?

Theo is the new black for me. I first saw him at Obedient Sons. He plays the cello.

Matt Egan I shot this summer and then more recently at Patrik Ervell. I always get beautiful shots on him.

This boy has remained out of my grasp. I shot him everywhere from Calvin to Galliano and even covered him in my "Favorites" section as "Favorite boy who's name I never got." And then didn't even realize when I posted him as "Janice" that it was the same kid. Having him walk in to the agency was like finding a missing piece to a puzzle. He's Dutch and appears on the homepage of Vman.com.

"The Face" as I call him, needs no commentary. I will say however, that in addition to inciting excitement among photographers, editors and stylists worldwide he is a total riot. Better than crack-cocaine this one, I'm always happy to see him.

I've always loved Helge's look.

Nick finally rolls in after a morning of shopping with Lana.

Rogier is very special. He's a photographer as well and we did photos of each other backstage at Prada. If you ask any of the guys they will all say the same thing. He is extremely easy-going and one of the nicest people you'll meet.

Gerhard I love. From Costume National to Y-3 he is THE most professional backstage. Whenever I shoot him, he turns, he gives you what you need, and you always nail it in one shot.

Govan I haven't met, but we share the same agency in Germany and they rave about him. He looks a little like Joao in this photo.

This kid is gonna kill it. His name is Zedenek and he's very funny.

I've written quite a bit about Felix Schopgens for V but the shot I grabbed of him backstage Prada is a personal fave.

This kid I just met, but I'm sure if Lana's got em, there are good things to come.

Ollie needs no introduction. He's been killing it.

Sean, Lana and Damien.

Gordie is from Canada and just shot Topman.

Jamie Jewitt is another one that's eluded me. If you go to Vman.com and click Calvin Klein you'll see just how in to him I am.

Marcus (who's last name has caused me many a late night with the spell check) I always love seeing backstage. He's very chill.

And last but not least, Danny, who's British. I first shot him backstage at Dolce but had no idea how hot he was until the shirt was off and Calvin's were out. He's another one we'll be seeing a lot of very soon. A la Meisel.

Greg Kessler

I can't think of a better way for a seasoned backstage vet to entertain himself, with yet another season, than blogging. I first did a post on my buddy Greg Kessler's Go Backstage blog last Fall and now he's back in business. I love hearing Greg's take on things and as you can see, he gets the ONLY shots. Having just finished his second (of four weeks) I'm excited to get a firsthand look at all he's got goin on over in Europe. Keep it comin Greg!

Smokin' Hot

Anyone who's read my V blog from the beginning surely remembers the cool-ass Dutch chick I shared a smoke with my first season backstage at Calvin Klein. To quote:

Grabbed a smoke with this cool chick outside of backstage.
"Aren't you exhausted?"
"No."
"Well how could you not be?"
"I am exclusive with Calvin Klein. This is the only show I do," she said with a cool Dutch accent.

Not much has changed since then. We're still smokin' and she's still cool as shit. In fact, I just asked her to marry me on her Facebook page. And guess what? She said yes. Sorry boys, it's all about Lara Stone for me now.

V Party

Inez and Vinoodh and V Magazine's blowout on the MINI rooftop for the launch of V55 was amazing! SO much fun! Everyone was there and I was thrilled to share a smoke with so many of my favorite people. Highlights of the night include photography lessons from the wonder duo themselves...

...Spending most of my time behind the DJ booth with Catherine and Abbey Lee...

..And meeting Steven Klein, who I had no idea was so cute. For more from the evening click here.

Jeremy Kost

One of the things I look forward to most backstage is catching up with all my photographer buddies. And the one I have the most in common with would appear to be (boy crazy) Jeremy Kost. Everyone's always asking me "What will Jeremy do once they stop making polaroids?" Well, don't worry about him, he's got plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

This season I was enthralled watching Jeremy work on his latest venture. Titled "Screen Tests" Jeremy captured little snippets (though they seemed to go on forever at the time) of such greats as Valentino, Diane von Furstenburg, Tommy Hilfiger (and a few he's keeping under wraps) staring dead-pan in to his lens. I thought they were genius and I loved watching him capture these legendary moments.

Click here to see his "Screen Tests" from backstage and be sure to check out the BEAUTIFUL vid of Nicole Richie, Cristina Ricci and Winona Ryder front row at DKNY. He's also working on a "male-themed" book which you can find on his site under Objectification.

Sonny Vandevelde

I first heard of Australian photographer Sonny Vandevelde through my favorite Third World blogger Bryanboy. It wasn't until seeing him this season that I realized I'd not only met him in Europe, but that he shoots backstage for Hint Mag. I LOVE his work and I'm honored to have a picture from him. Check out his traveling backstage blog!

Calvin's 40th

Calvin Klein's party was a "Who's-Who" free-for-all. Everybody was there and I was thrilled to have access to the best of the best. The night was crazy as I shot five shows, smoked on the way and then shot late into the night. Besides Brooke Shields, Claire Danes, Cynthia Nixon and Martha Stewart (among others) the highlight was definitely having Romulo tell me (just as I was having a panic attack thinking it was 3 a.m. and I'd never be able to get up the next morning) that it was 10:30 pm. It was like finding out it's daylight savings and you just gained an extra hour of sleep.

Not being someone who is easily star-struck, even I have to admit it was exciting to be able to snap shots of so many Hollywood starlets, fashion elite and models all in the same room. Halle Berry was a treat and honestly, if it wasn't for Gabriel, I never woulda got her to stop for my lens. Click here to see who else I captured on this star-studded night.

New York Fashion Week

Okay bitches! It's on. New York fashion week has arrived. How's this for a tourist shot? I was up at the tents today getting my credentials and couldn't think of a better way to illustrate the arrival of fashion week than Bryant Park. I'm just poppin' in though. I'll be over at V starting Monday so look for all my backstage craziness over there. And it will be crazy I assure you. I'm scheduled to shoot the highest amount of shows yet (25) and 4 parties. AND I'll be doing it all via Brooklyn. So light a candle and say a prayer, cuz I'm gonna need all the help I can get.
