Okay, so I know Vanity Fair is suppose to be the "End-All" for all things elite, but evidently that doesn't apply to their own copy. I received an email this morning with a link to their "International Best-Dressed List" with "DOUCHE-BAGS" in the subject line. I have to say I agree. You should see how they've listed who and, more importantly, why they've chosen this years best.

MORLEY SAFER- Because he always plays it Safer.
ZAC GOLDSMITH- Because he’s solid Goldsmith.
BROTHERS ANDREA and PIETRO CLEMENTE- Because they’re the crème de Clemente.
LAPO ELKANN-Because he’s the Lapo of luxury.
KANYE WEST- Because, yes, he Kanye.
JULIA KOCH- Because Koch is the real thing.
DAVID BECKHAM Because he’s ab fab.
SYDNEY and CHARLES FINCH- Because they’re birds of a feather.
JULIAN SCHNABEL- Because he’s the cat’s pajamas.
COUNT MANFREDI DELLA GHERARDESCA-Because style still counts.
IRIS APFEL- Because she’s the Apfel of our eye.
BRYAN LOURD- Because he is the Lourd of the manner.
H.S.H. PRINCE HEINRICH VON UND ZU FÜRSTENBERG- Because we like Heinrich’s maneuvers.
MATT LAUER- Because he is an NBC peacock. (What?)

Did anyone happen to see the shots I did for Visionaire Lacoste 54? People have been going apeshit for these things, btw, and I'm sure they've already sold out. They were a big hit in Paris as well. It was super fun to shoot and we knocked it out in about an hour. Joe Edney, Chanel Iman, Britton Munn, Cicely Telman and Parker Bose.

Please tell me this is happening to all of you?!? Because the SECOND time my hard-drive crashed on this computer (which is less than a year old) they told me that it was probably a coincidence. However, that I should consider this sort of thing a "red-flag." Okay, well, the flag is up because it's happening again. Safari as well.

Oh and get this, Mac won't give me a new computer. They insist on replacing the hard-drives and say the two that died (from two different locations, six months apart) were probably part of a "bad batch." Can you imagine?

If this computer crashes again I think I will literally kill somebody.

Place Models

Boy did I hit the Motherload today. Over at Place Models, where partners Yannis and Jan-Eric are known for having some of the best new faces Germany has to offer. Usually when you swing by an agency to check out their latest finds, it's a lot of head scratching and a bit of "How am I gonna make this kid look good?" Not the case today.

Like this kid here. Seventeen year old Peer who, once is able to travel, should go directly to Paris and Milan. And I only saw the boys they have in town. There website is loaded with undiscovered young talent. Take a look!

Artists Playground

My fabulous German girlfriend, who I met while in LA, Silke Taprogge (formerly of Blum and Poe) is now working for Phillips de Pury and Company in London. They've got a cool exhibit happening through October called Reconstruction 3: An Artists Playground, which takes place at a castle outside of London.

You would not believe the amount of emails I've received from people wanting to know about Florian Bourdila. So, to answer your questions- He's 17 yrs. old, from Paris, and the shots that were posted of him are from Calvin Klein. Ford Paris sent me some beautiful Polaroids.

Berlin Boss

So the Boss pics are up over at V starring my girl Olga Sherer. Who I was so happy to see. I had my first conversation with Olga her first season in New York and it wasn't until Berlin that we finally got to catch-up. I mean we've talked, but other than blowing kisses backstage and "Olga! Turn this way!" I've had no clue what she's been up to. She's sooooo sweet.

Young Dudes

I got an email from a girl down in Argentina who has the funnest blog. (Of the modelizer sort.) It's filled with cute boys and shots that models send in of themselves. (Please if you don't think models like seeing themselves on the web think again.) Check it out!

Mischa Barton

I don't care what anybody say's about Mischa Barton, I like her. Star Magazine, Us Weekly, Perez Hilton...any of those bitchy rags. And I don't care if she doesn't look like she did three years ago or her hairs blond now, or she's put on a little weight, or any of that. I enjoyed taking her photograph and thought she was nice.

Carlotta Manaigo

Who knew that the cute little Italian girl I'd been shooting with backstage in Milan for three days (and having a ball) would turn out to be Carlotta Manaigo? One of my favorite young photographers.

On assignment for a Japanese magazine, Carlotta maneuvered her way through the backstage like a pro. ALL the guys loved her. (And I'm not just talking about the models but the backstage photographers as well.) It wasn't until leading Jay Massacret by the hand at the Gucci party (to meet my "new pal") just as he's telling me "Wait I wanna say hi to Carlotta," that we ended up at the same person! "You're Carlotta Manaigo?!? The one who shoots the beautiful portraits of the boys?" (Can you imagine?)

Do yourselves a favor and check out Carlotta's work. She has an amazing eye and I love her mixture of portraiture and landscapes. Her images have a dreamy romantic feel to them and I can't wait to see what she got backstage. AND, she's very cool.

Hugo Boss

Popped over to Berlin for Hugo Boss last week. Total blast! You know I love these "non-fashion week" shows. And leave it to the Germans to be the most professional and well organized yet. Hugo Boss anyways. I loved it. Bruno Pieters turned out an uber architectural collection of black, blue, white and beige. Complete with BBQ and celebs.

So you had Olga Scherer (who I love)...

...Tanya D putting the dressers through their paces...

...half a dozen sharply dressed boys...

...and Irina poppin' around making faces, lighting my cigs and making me laugh the entire time. ALL after a late-night out on the town.

Go to sometime this week and you'll see a complete slideshow.

Lars Burmeister

Acqua di Gio is one of the most coveted campaigns out there. Reserved for a select few in the world, fronting Armani's top-selling fragrance not only assures you blue chip status within the industry but, if chosen, you can pretty much just sit back and watch the checks roll in. For years.

Larry Scott
held the prestigious position for nearly a decade and I think Lars Burmeister was an excellent choice.
I ran in to Lars at Spin the other day and you know I had to grab some shots. We L-O-V-E Lars Burmeister.

Well it was bound to happen. Gisele shot bare-assed on the cover of V by Mario Testino? And three different covers nonetheless. Now you know why James was playing with her ass.

OMG I could not stop laughing at this agency I popped by today. It's called Spin Model Management and it's Hamburg's youngest upstart. Keeping in line with the boutique theme, owners Maik Tangel and Philipp Brugger (formerly of Mega) believe in quality over quantity. And their board reflects just that.

I think if I were going to open an agency, I too, would just sit back and handpick who I wanted to represent. They've got everyone from Lars Burmeister and Michael Gandolfi to that hot Spanish kid I was goin on about in Milan, Antonio Navas, and even Cole Mohr. Oh! And they've got Eniko! Eniko-Eniko, the one who's about to blow up? Not a bad group to start with I'd say.
